How do I download eBook Central ebooks?

Note: we recommend reading online whenever possible for a superior experience.

First, you will need to sign in with your Wabash account.

Next, you will need to install Adobe Digital Editions (if you haven't already). This is free software that is different than Adobe Reader (the software you might usually use to open PDF files). You will be prompted to download this software after you start downloading the ebook.

  • Choose the appropriate version for Windows or Mac and complete the steps to download the software.
  • When you first download Adobe Digital Editions, you will get a screen asking to authorize your computer. Click the box “I want to authorize my computer without an ID”. Note that you'll need a (free) Adobe Digital ID in order to move the file to another device, but not if you just want to read it on your computer.

After installation, return to eBook Central and proceed to the next step where you can choose your download period and your preferred download format if more than one is available. For many books in eBook Central, you can choose your download format - PDF or EPUB. Books in PDF retain the look and feel of the print book. EPUB allows you to resize the text of the book, which may be helpful on a tablet, phone, or other smaller device. The loan period varies by book. The file will expire at the end of your loan period, but you can usually check the book out again, if it's available.

If you only want to download a chapter, see our other FAQ.
